we all know that anything zombie related usually = win. but that's not exactly the case for the movie Zombie Strippers! (starring the not-so-hot-as-she-used-to-be Jenna Jameson) In this case, it equals EPIC WIN!
let me elaborate on the complex calculations of the movie Zombie Strippers:
zombies=win strippers=win
thus
zombies + strippers = double win
hence
Zombie Strippers! = EPIC WIN!
there's nothing like coming home from a long day of work and flipping the tube on to view a world broadcast premiere on SPIKE of the movie Zombie Strippers! Perfection.
The acting was actually decent. Most of the time, at least. The story itself wasn't exactly what you'd call profound or intellectual in any way, shape, or form. but it was compelling and very entertaining to watch. some of the special effects kinda sucked, and others looked pretty damn awesome.
there were a countless number of WTF scenes. such as the first time we see zombie Jenna Jameson performing on stage. but the scene that hands down takes the cake for being the WTF-iest of them all has to be the "shooting balls through vagina scene." Zombie Jenna literally stuffs billiard balls inside her dead vagina. Then she aims and shoots them out at a zombie stripper rival. hilarious.
anyway, its movie brilliance based on actual plot, cinematography, music, etc. is probably 4/10. but it's movie epicness is somewhere between a 8/10 and a 9/10.
check this out. from a comic called The Walking Dead which I failed to find in Barnes & Noble:
"Sometimes I wish the zombie apocalypse would happen because I think I could make it. And I think I could save you. Maybe we could find a cure and save the world, or maybe we'd just fall in love."
i love it. :]
it fcking blows i'm spending 4/20 at school and then at work. lame.
I finished reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower yesterday. I loved it. I've always been partial to coming-of-age tales. Mainly because I can hugely relate to them. I love reading books like these because I always picture certain moments as scenes from a movie.
For example, here's a little excerpt from the book:
" After the dance, we left in Sam's pickup. Patrick was driving this time. As we were approaching the Fort Pitt Tunnel, Sam asked Patrick to pull to the side of the road. I didn't know what was going on. Sam climbed in the back of the pickup, wearing nothing but her dance dress. She told Patrick to drive, and he got this smile on his face. I guess they had done this before. Anyway, Patrick started driving really fast, and just before we got to the tunnel, Sam stood up, and the wind turned her dress into ocean waves. When we hit the tunnel, all the sound got scooped up into a vaccuum, and it was replaced by a song on the tape player. A beautiful song called "Landslide." When we got out of the tunnel, Sam screamed this really fun scream, and there it was. Downtown. Lights on buildings and everything that makes you wonder. Sam sat down and started laughing. Patrick started laughing. I started laughing. And in that moment, I swear we were infinite"
Good God, it just screams MOVIE MOMENT! Which, to be honest, I have not been getting enough of lately. Well, actually I have. But they'd be from very sad and lonely movies.
I mean this type of scenario is something that I always wanted to put in a movie. Girl on pickup truck with dress and hair blowing carelessly in the wind. Beautiful. It might have been done before, but I don't care. I love it.
Anyway, another reason why this book affected me so much was that MUSIC was incredibly significant in the story. great music too, I should add. Charlie, the narrator, made a mixed tape for his friend which I attempted to make into an iPod playlist.( I guess you can say, I'm modernizing it) This playlist is from the other side of the mixed tape which Charlie describes as "winter kind of songs."

Movie Brilliance: -Vanilla Sky 8/10 (anything with penelope cruz I automatically like. she's a beaut. interesting) -Driving Lessons 7.5/10 (rupert grint was great in this movie. a nice little coming of age flick) -Observe and Report 5/10(thank god i didn't have to pay to watch this. had so many terrible moments) -Adventureland 8.5/10(loved it. full review below vvvv)
occasionally hung out, toked up, worked quite a bit, and school stuff. boring. i know. i promised myself I'll try to make new friends. but it's just so damn hard. i'm terrible at this.

These songs are all from The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The Smiths- Asleep I don't need to write anything about this song except a quote from the book "If you listen to the song “Asleep,” and you think about those pretty weather days that make you remember things, and you think about the prettiest eyes you’ve known, and you cry, and the person holds you back, then I think you will see the photograph."
First of all, I'd have to say that the marketing for this film was all wrong. The trailers depict this film as a Superbad-esque type of film, which to be quite honest, is very far from it. This movie is not an hour and a half of hilarity, sexually crude humor, or constant slapsticks( although it's not entirely void of those qualities.) This is more of a coming-of-age film(despite the main cast being in their early twenties), which occasional moments of over the top comical scenes and subtle humor in the dialogue.
Now, if one were to see this movie with a mindset of it being a Superbad 2, then they'd probably be quite disappointed. On the other hand, if you go in expecting nothing more than an enjoyable movie, then you'd be quite satisfied. I, for one, enjoyed the movie very, very much.
Here's the story, James(played very naturally by Jesse Eisenberg) is a college graduate who needs a job to save up for school in New York (hmm, semi relatable-ish). So he gets a summer job at the only place he can, which is at Adventureland. Well, it's obviously not the greatest job for someone his age or for anyone not in high school either.( more relatable-ish) He goes in thinking it'll be hell, which it was. But he experiences some of the best times of his youthful life and meets some of the greatest people working at this craphole; particularly a girl named Em(played oh so hotly by Kristen Stewart. seriously, she was super hot in this movie. I think it was the careless hair + the i-don'tgive-afuck attitude= win!) Anyway, there's this whole love triangle that happens and other shit that life throws at you. Ultimately, it's a film about working at shitty places, smoking joints, eating pot cookies, and dorky kids making out with hot chicks( now that's a movie!) But on a more serious note, it really is a coming-of-age film that deals with the issues any young man faces in his life and how eventually learns and grows from it.
I really, thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I know some who don't. I've heard some hated it, labeling it "sucky." I don't give a shit. I like these type of movies. Like I said before, I'm a sucker for romances and the Em + James scenes were probably some of my favorites. Once scene in particular, which was probably my favorite, was the bumper cars scene. It was shot so beautifully and of course, backed with fantastic music; very much like the other scenes in this film.
why I loved it: - great, simple, relatable plot - good acting - GREAT music - set in 1987 - funny - Kristen Stewart's sexiness - coming of age flick
movie brilliance: 8.5/10
It's not quite a 9. but I want to give it a 9. but it's not quite a 9. but i still really liked it.

Now I posted this song before, but I'll do it again since it played a significant part in the movie. Great, great song. The Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes
the hottest anime chick ever to smoke a cigarette. & also the inspiration for one of my characters in a script I was working on. she's from one of the best(if not the best) short series anime called FLCL aka Fooly Cooly(2000). I watched it on Adult Swim many moons ago. And it stuck to me.
I love how "Never Knows Best" is written on her cigarettes. i think i need to meet a girl like her. lulz.
I'm not even a huge fan of animes. But seriously, this one takes the cake for being the most original, unique, and just the fcking coolest one ever. Beautiful clips:
listen to the things she says. and the perfect background music. grade A stuff. I love it
